Hi! We are Tiana and Amy. The creators of Saving Mum.

We are creative mums with a passion for getting back to basics to care and raise our children and run more efficient households.

After years of swapping ideas between ourselves and friends, we decided it would be a great idea to start an online network where mums & dads can share in each others ideas and stories. By creating Saving Mum, parents can have more choices and ideas on ways they can personally save time and money and help the environment.

On 22nd October 2007 Saving Mum first went live and exploded to include over 40 000 members. The website became so large it was impossible to read in a single sitting and demand for a book soon followed.

The ‘Saving Mum’ book was launched in early 2009 and includes the best ideas from the website packaged into an easy to use, full colour guide.

In mid 2009 Tiana went back to work full time and Amy and her husband welcomed their fourth child into the world (another girl!). So life for both of us, had become even busier. This left very little time to maintain the Saving Mum website, and the decision to close the members section became imminent.

Thank you to the mums and dads who have made our website such a success and especially to those members who contributed to the book. Thanks also to all of those who have purchased a copy and emailed in such lovely reviews!

THANK YOU!

Tiana and Amy

Tiana and Amy first met as colleagues in an advertising agency.

Tiana's twins and Amy's second born were born 4 weeks apart which encouraged us to form a close friendship. Except... Amy and Tiana's little girls didn't seem to like each other. It began at walking age. They would scream, hit, bite and grab. Amy and Tiana were so upset by this they stopped socialising and only spoke on the phone. The disputes lasted right up until they turned three years old. Now the girls are best friends.

...THIS IS WHY SAVING MUM WAS FIRST PUBLISHED IN 2007.
